2024 Homeowner Landscaping Ideas

The winner of our 2024 Homeowner Landscaping Contest Winner had an idea and made it happen! See below for what they envisioned to how they achieved it.

"We always dreamed of a pavilion and Prolific’s design team helped us tie it all together. We didn’t want JUST a pool and to have to hire all the different contractors etc. separately, because we wanted it to seamlessly all flow together. Prolific took what we envisioned and helped tie it all together.  The final result looked just like the design."

"We started with a deck from Tuskes Homes when the home was built, for ease with having walk-out lower level. Then added the initial adjacent patio spanning across back, and under the deck. 

We expanded to have entrances from each side that frames a lush view as you enter, of the beautiful view across. The pavilion creates a covered space that feels just like an extension of our living area, with a fully equipped outdoor kitchen, with a grill, sink, fridge, and storage. We even have a Wifi extender outdoors."

"Friends and Family gather at the island, at all the seating areas options around, the lounge chairs space to soak in the sun, the pool’s sun shelf shallow edge, and even on the built-in half walls. We can see the outdoor TV from the spa or sitting in front of the fireplace. From the under pavilion, one of our favorite parts is the rose bushes that line the back edge and add to the privacy, while listening to the overflow waterfall edge of the spa. We wanted a clean edge, around the pool and patio, and added in the putting green turf and boulder retaining wall, functional yet an added fun space. 

"Our friends appreciate and feel like it’s kid friendly, yet high-end. And still is an open view to the rest of the large backyard. We didn’t want separation between the pool, patio and yard, and it feels like one large inviting space we can flow between and enjoy it all. Our goal was as low maintenance as possible, with colorful trees, shrubs and perennials, it mainly only requires being cut back once in the spring/fall. Hopefully this helps you in planning your backyard oasis!"
